Conscientious people live longer, get better grades, commit fewer crimes, earn more, and have greater influence in society. We perform better at work and have better marriages. Conscientious people maintain a healthy weight effortlessly. This is due to the fact that conscientious people have a knack for avoiding the behaviors that damage our long-term happiness and success.

These are 7 things conscientious people don’t do:

  1. We don’t buy on a whim. Conscientious people plan their purchases.

  2. We don’t take mental notes. Conscientious people WRITE IT DOWN on paper!

  3. We don’t slouch. Conscientious people stand up straight because we care how we’re perceived.

  4. We don’t binge on TV, sleep, cheat meals, or drinking. Conscientious people relax by doing things that benefit us.

  5. We don’t break promises. Conscientious people are dependable, on time, honest, and keep commitments.

  6. We don’t quit. We have grit. We don’t give up on goals and we make sure things are done right.

  7. We don’t ignore problems. Conscientious people take responsibility for what goes wrong in our lives and we fix it. We pay attention & often anticipate problems before they arise. We sidestep the stress that goes along with ignoring problems.
