What Does "Normal" Really Get You?

What Does "Normal" Really Get You?

It's considered "normal" to eat cake to celebrate birthdays. It's considered "normal" to drink alcohol, a substance that is known to be toxic for the body, consistently. It's considered "normal" to go to brunch and eat until you're uncomfortable. What about the loads of candy we give our kids for Halloween, Valentine's Day, Easter? It's considered to be normal. Or, to eat foods loaded with chemicals and preservatives- it's "normal" to us. What about eating whenever you're hungry- whether it be physical or emotional- that's considered to be normal, right?

Well, I'm here to tell you to choose to rethink normal for yourself because "normal" in our society is overweight. Choose to stand out. Choose to do your own thing and set yourself apart from the crowd.  Choose to do what's right for you according to your values and your priorities. Choose to consciously look at your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to see if they're lining up with your goals. Make that your new "normal"- because it's what's right for you. Let people judge you and let them be wrong about you.
