What To Do When You Eat Off Plan
Perfection isn’t part of the weight loss journey. A successful journey encompasses the process of “failing forward”. Failing forward can be described as learning about ourselves when we don’t follow our plan and moving forward with positive emotion.
Some questions to ask yourself when you eat off plan could be:
What would have worked better? What else could I have done?
What did I notice?
What did I learn?
How can I let this go now?
How do I want to feel about this moving forward?
How will I handle this next time?
Remember, the only positive actions that we take come from positive emotion. If we’re feeling negatively after eating off plan, it’s normal. But, we want to intentionally process the emotion and turn the event into a “learning moment”. We not only gain insight this way, but also create positive emotion (and positive subsequent action) from the experience.
