How To Effectively Release Tension/ Set Intention Throughout Your Day For Weight Loss Success!

Our day is comprised of a series of transitions- the powerful space of freedom between activities. By changing the way we shift from one activity to the next, we can lessen our anxiety and emotional eating. We can even take it one step further and use it for setting intentions and revitalizing our energy, making us more productive and satisfied.

When you move from one major activity to another, try this:

  1. Close your eyes for a minute or two.

  2. Say the word, “release”. It’s a command to tell your body to release the tension in your shoulders, in your neck, in your face and jaw. Repeat the word “release” and command the tension in your back and legs to leave. Repeat the word “release” again to release tension from your mind & spirit.

  3. When you feel you’ve released some tension (it may not be ALL your tension), move to the next part- setting intention. Think about what you want to feel and achieve in the next activity you’re about to take on. Ask yourself what energy you want to bring to the next activity.

This simple exercise, practiced deliberately throughout the day can help you manage stress and gain more presence. It will reduce your cravings and emotional eating by putting you in the driver’s seat of your mind, energy and ensuing activities. It’s an extremely empowering habit that I highly recommend trying out for yourself!
