Who Are You Becoming?
With any goal, including weight loss, the question is- "who am I becoming through striving for this goal?". That's the point, right?....not the destination, but the journey.
The whole point of weight loss is to grow our perspective/ understanding of ourselves- to love ourselves more. To love someone means to pay attention to them, support them, take interest in them, appreciate them, and admire them....through ALL the twists and turns, ups and downs. We could also add: gentleness, kindness, patience, support, loyalty, etc. If you want permanent success, this is the kind of relationship you must have with yourself. There's no way around it. You can't hate yourself to positive results. Love says, "I'm FOR myself and I'm FOR others".
Once you learn how to love yourself, you can love others. And, it's always love that moves us forward...as individuals and as a society. So, if weight loss is one of your goals, use it as a way to teach yourself about love. That's where true empowerment comes from.
