Getting Excited About Weight Loss
Did you know your weight loss success has much to do with the level of excitement you feel about reaching your goal?! Do you feel enthused & encouraged about losing weight? When you think about losing weight do you feel an increase in energy, or do you feel defeated before you even begin?
Great news…you’re in control of your level of excitement about weight loss. It all has to do with the pictures in your head and the feelings you associate with those pictures.
When you imagine being at your ideal weight, what do you look like? Get detailed with your description. What are you wearing? How do you feel in those clothes. What is the expression on your face?
What do you feel like as you interact with other women? Are you more apt to give out compliments? How do you feel when you receive compliments? What do you say to the men who hit on you? How do you feel when you choose to turn them down….again? (Or, possibly not turn them down-if you’re single!)
How do you feel in your workouts? Are you lighter and freer? Is it easy to do burpees? Is it no big deal to run fast or long distances? Are you wearing something that shows your stomach? Are your muscles well defined? Does the person next to you look to you for inspiration?
How does it feel to run around the amusement park or mall all day with your kids without tiring out? Or lead them on hikes, swims, or bike rides. Perhaps you’re encouraging them: “If Mom can do it, you can do it!”?
How does it feel when your friends and family ask you what your secret is to staying in such great shape? Or maybe they start ordering what you order at restaurants, or workout where you do?
How does it feel to “leave the lights on”, knowing you look smokin’ hot naked? Do you have fun dressing up in sexy lingerie- and heels perhaps??? How does it feel knowing the sheer sight of you is able to drive your man wild?
How does it feel being to go mountain climbing, water skiing, kayaking, surfing, white water rafting (or whatever your adventurous spirit desires) on your next vacation?
How does it feel to walk around the pool confidently- without your cover up on???
How does it feel to hear the doctor commend you on your health markers- including your weight!
How does it feel to go clothes shopping and not have to try things on because pretty much everything looks great on you!
Are you excited by the pictures I’ve painted? If not, I challenge you to examine your internal dialogue. (If you’re telling you this could never be you- your inner dialogue is your stumbling block!)
